With words by Oliver Wendell Holmes, commissioned for the National Peace Jubilee held in Boston in 1869, and original, uplifting music, this work speaks to a nation's desire for healing and reconciliation. Though alluding to Christmas in the final stanza, the work is excellent for ecumenical, patriotic and community performances.
